Your chair and the appointments worked example: replace with your own numbers
Use the same unit for pack size and amounts used on each row. Fixed costs are what you pay each month whether you are busy or not. Booked hours are the hours a month you actually spend with paying clients. Prices are rounded to the cent before card fees are worked out.
How it works
Each supply costs pack price × amount used ÷ pack size. Chair cost per hour = fixed costs per month ÷ booked hours. Price = (supplies + chair cost for the minutes + take-home for the minutes + card fixed fee) ÷ (1 − card %), worked out separately for a full set and a fill.
Worked example (the values above): four rows from a $20.00, 16-row lash tray is $5.00 for a full set and two rows $2.50 for a fill; adhesive at $25.00 per 5 ml is $1.25 and $0.50; a pair of gel pads $0.20 each time; micro brushes and wands $0.32 and $0.16; primer $0.50 each time. Supplies: $7.27 a full set and $3.86 a fill. $1,440.00 over 120 booked hours is $12.00 an hour of chair cost. Full set, 120 minutes: ($7.27 + $24.00 + $60.00 + $0.15) ÷ 0.97 = $94.25, card fees $2.98, leaving $60.00. Fill, 60 minutes: ($3.86 + $12.00 + $30.00 + $0.15) ÷ 0.97 = $47.43, card fees $1.57, leaving $30.00. The fill is 50.3% of the full set price.
If fills run long, time them: every extra 15 minutes adds $10.50 at these rates ($12.00 chair + $30.00 take-home per hour, before card fees). See also the nail tech pricing calculator and all calculators.
